In 1960 and the decades that followed,
Antonio Recalcati does what no painter has done before him:
he sticks his body to his canvas placed on the ground and coated with oil paint; he gets up, his clothes and the fabric around his head covered with the material thus removed from the surface. From this hand-to-hand combat between the artist and his own canvas
Imprints are born.
