Born in 1990 in Prague, Tereza Lochmann developed her taste for engraving at the Lycée des Arts Plastiques Vaclav Hollar.
As is practiced in Czech culture, this establishment - which bears the name of one of the most famous engravers of the 17th century in Europe - has the mission of training students from the age of 15, in an intensive way, in all techniques in all disciplines of the visual arts.
Tereza Lochmann then entered the School of Applied Arts in Prague (UMPRUM).
But the academic education that is dispensed there puts her off.
She moved to Paris in 2014, and began an experimental engraving process combining in her works large format wood engraving with painting, drawing and collage.

She still occasionally produces “ multiples ”, that is to say wood engravings printed in ten copies or more, and numbered.
